MOVE FOR MINDS 2.0
Every 65 seconds someone in the US develops Alzheimer’s, 2 out of 3 of those Americans diagnosed with Alzheimer’s are women, and no one knows why. The Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement is working to change that. Through innovative fundraising methods - WAM raises funds specifically for gender-based Alzheimer's research.
WCPG was brought on specifically to restrategize one of WAM’s biggest fundraisers - Move for Minds. Previously held in partnership with Equinox at 17+ of their locations across the country, WAM now desired to hold one big event at a single location at the Equinox Sport Club in Los Angeles. They also wanted to find ways to loop in other 3rd party partners to the event in order to maximize fundraising.
Strategy:
WCPG, along with WAM, created a new strategy for Move for Minds - a full day of fun, fitness, and information that would transform your mind, body, and spirit. With a full day of different activities, WCPG was able to structure the campaign in a way that engaged participants and kept them participating in the program all day long. Top Equinox instructors would lead yoga, strength, and meditation sessions, while a separate wellness area would be for pampering yourself with massages and relaxation techniques. There would also now be a Wellness Marketplace for healthy and delicious food and beverages to be sampled and tasted in between activities. The Wellness Marketplace would also serve as an area to engage 3rd party brands and vendors that otherwise would not have been able to partake in the event.
Result:
The Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement was able to raise over $700,000 through their newly structured Move for Minds event held on November 2nd, 2020 via participants, sponsors, and vendors. From the exciting wellness products and healthy snacks and drinks to the workout classes, zen den, doctors’ hours and informational panels about brain health, participants enjoyed a unique and valuable experience. Brands involved were able to increase their visibility and awareness and engage with all of our participants throughout the day. WAM also was able to utilize their relationships with talent to create increased buzz and media around the organization and fundraising event.
